ORDINANCE REMINDERS:
WARNING ordinance violators are
subject to fines and penalties for ordinance violations!
Motorized scooters or mopeds are not
legal on streets or sidewalks unless the operator is
licensed.
A 11:00 p.m. curfew exits for
minors under the age of 16 years. THIS CURFEW WILL
BE ENFORCED!
No skateboards, rollerblades,
bicycles, motorized scooters, etc are allowed in the
gazebo or the park shelter.
No hunting, discharging of
firearms (including BB guns) or explosives is allowed
within the Village of Belgium.
Unlicensed vehicles, appliances and
junk are not allowed on Village properties.
Dogs are to be leashed when
not on your property. Owners are
responsible to pick up dog feces on sidewalks and
street right- of-ways.
Burning is prohibited in the Village.
Vandals who do damage to Village
property will be prosecuted. Mailbox vandalism is a
felony.
Park Shelter Curtains are not
to be used without Village approval. Repairs are needed
and are costly.
The Village is asking that no one
climb street trees or trees in our parks. Thank you.
VILLAGE MARSHAL
Jayme Arndt, Village Marshal, may be

Among the duties the Village Marshall
performs are vehicle violations, animal violations,
noise violations, and miscellaneous items such as curfew
violations, recreational problems, parades, traffic
control and other Village of Belgium Ordinance
enforcement. For items other than Village Ordinance
violations, please contact Ozaukee County Sheriffs
Department 262-284-7172.
Tuesday, April 5th is
Spring Election between the hours of 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
Absentee 7931 for an application. Voters need to Ballots
are available. Call Village Hall at 285- complete a
Voter Registration Form to vote. Please allow extra time
on Election Day or stop in at the Village Hall before
Election if you have not completed a Voter Registration
Form.

ATTENTION SWIMMING POOL OWNERS:
To receive a credit on your water and
sewer bill for water used in pools, you must have a
deduct meter installed. No deduct meter no credit.

MOVING?
Notify
the Belgium Utilities at 285-7931 when you know
the date of your move and your new address so we can
read your meter and send a final bill. We need also
to be advised of the new tenants and/or owners prior to
moves.

MEETING
SCHEDULE
Belgium Village Board meets on the second Monday
of the month at 7 p.m. Agenda deadline is the
Wednesday prior to the second Monday at 12 noon.
Plan Commission /Architectural Control Board
meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
Agenda deadline is the Monday prior to the 4th
Tuesday at 12 noon.
Any special Village Board or Plan Commission
Meeting must be notified 24 hours prior to the
meeting. A payment is required for special
meetings. Requests must be in writing. Both
payment and written request must be presented at the
time a meeting is requested.
Tree Board meets on the first Monday of the month
at 6 p.m. or as posted
All meetings take place at the Belgium Village Hall,
195 Commerce Street.

Real estate tax receipts are
available at the Village Hall for those who did not
include a self addressed stamped envelope or a mortgage
company paid the bill directly.
BUILDING INSPECTION
All Building Permit questions are to
be directed to Frank D. Mayer, Building Inspector. He
can be reached at (262) 692-9280 for inspection
scheduling and questions.
INVITATION TO ALL SENIOR CITIZENS
All senior citizens are invited to
come to the meal site located at the American Legion
Hall, 655 Park Street, on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m.. A
donation is requested for the meal. Come and join the
fun including a meal, cards and other activities. For
additional information, call Kathy at the Ozaukee Aging
Service (284-8120).
RECYCLING NOTES:
Yard Waste (grass clippings,
garden and flower debris no plastic bags) can
be discarded in a dumpster behind the Municipal Garage
at 620 Park Street within the Recycling Center. Yard
waste will not be picked up curbside. DO NOT PLACE
GRASS CLIPPINGS IN THE CURB OR OVER STORM SEWER GRATES.
DO NOT DEPOSIT GRASS CLIPPINGS AND LAWN RAKING DEBRIS IN
THE CURB. DEPOSIT CLIPPINGS AND DEBRIS IN THE RECYCLING
CENTER YARD WASTE DUMPSTER.
Deposit all used drain oil in the
receptacle. Do not place empty
milk containers filled with oil around the
container.
DO NOT drop off the
following items at the Municipal Garage:
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners any
appliance with freon; Tires, Shingles, Tree
trunks, Household hazardous waste, i.e. paint,
gasoline.
REMEMBER to use clear
bags for garbage and blue bags for recycling.
PC AND COMPUTER MONITOR RECYCLING.
Computer recycling, is being offered by
Belgium PC, 746 Main Street, Belgium, 285-4450.
Recycling Center Hours: Monday
Thursday 12:30-3:30p.m., Friday
12:30-2:30 p.m.; Saturday (May 7 November 12
only) 9 a.m.1p.m.
Branch pickup will start up
again on Monday mornings starting May 23rd.
All branches must be by the curb by 9 a.m. on
Mondays. Point branch trunk ends towards the
curb. Do not place branches curbside
over holiday or event week-ends, i.e. Belgium
Rummage Sale. Residents who choose to do this
will be charged for collection.
Large items will
not be picked up at your residence. All large
items furniture, washers and dryers, etc. are to
be brought to the recycling center behind the
Municipal Garage on Park Street between 12:30.-3:30
p.m. or by special appointment.
HELP NEEDED
considerable
littering and broken glass is found throughout the
Village. Please pick up litter and property dispose of
it. HELP KEEP BELGIUM CLEAN!
All construction debris will
be treated as a large item pick-up. DO NOT LEAVE
AT CURBSIDE. All construction debris
must be deposited into a privately contracted
dumpster - DO NOT DEPOSIT IN THE DUMPSTERS AT
THE RECYCLING CENTER. YOU ARE
RESPONSIBLE FOR DEBRIS WHICH BLOWS OUT OF DUMPSTER.

4-H Spaghetti Dinner & Raffle
Jay Road
and Holy Cross 4-H Clubs are sponsoring a spaghetti
dinner and raffle on April 10th at Belgium
Community Center from 11am 1pm. Dinner includes:
Spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, beverage &
dessert. Advanced tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for
children. (At the door add 50’ each) The raffle includes
a Grand Prize 1 night stay at Blue Harbor Resort ($395
Value) and many other great certificates and prizes.
SOFTBALL/BASEBALL REGISTRATION

though age 19 Registration is now being accepted.
Deadline for registration is April 11th. Any
registration after that date will be at the discretion

PRESCHOOL SCREENING
If your child was born between
September 1, 2000 and August 31, 2001 and you have not
received a letter from the school district, please call
to schedule your child for pre-school screening. Please

304. The next scheduled screening dates are April 15th
and April 29th.
BELGIUM COMMUNITY CLUBS ANNUAL
RUMMAGE SALE
The Annual Rummage Sale will take
place on Saturday, May 7 between 8 a.m. to 4
p.m. throughout the Village of Belgium
sponsored by the Belgium Community Club. Everyone
holding a rummage sale on this date is requested
to pay the $5 fee to the Belgium Community
Club. Contact Geri Bichler at 285-3073 for details.
Deadline for sign up is April 25th.
The Belgium Community Club provides
fruit baskets to the elderly, gift a child, Halloween
and Easter egg party and improvements to the Village
Park System.
The
Belgium Fire Department is currently taking

FACE AT VILLAGE HALL
We welcome Jamie Cecil as part
time receptionist/clerical assistant. Formerly from
South Dakota, Jamie lives in Belgium with husband, Mark
and a few furry friends.
When you stop in at the Belgium
Village Hall, please introduce yourself to Jamie. Shes
eager to meet the residents of our village.
MEMORIAL DAY
A Christian mass will take place for
all service personnel living and deceased on May 31st at
7:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church Lake Church. Later that
morning, a parade will take place starting at 10:30 a.m.
from Liberty Street to Community Park. The Cedar
Grove-Belgium Band will perform.
After the parade a Memorial Day
Program will take place at Community Park followed by
food and refreshments. The Belgium Memorial Post #412 is
asking all organizations to join the parade. Kids can
bring bicycles or walk. Everyone is welcome!
FLAG DAY - 60th
Anniversary of World War II to be commemorated.
Flag Day, June 12, 2005,
Waubeka, WI. The Flag Day Program, with Master of
Ceremonies, Gus Gnorski, starts at 12:30pm, parade
starts at 1:30pm and Family Day starts at 3pm. There
will be hayrides, games for children and so much more!
Live music featuring "Rumor" until dusk and then a
breath taking fireworks display will light up the sky.
World War II veterans, their friends
or family members are requested to call John Janik, as a
special tribute is planned for them.

to the Belgium Lions Club for the generous donation of
$18,493 for new playground equipment for Community Park.
Playground equipment is expected to be installed this
Spring. The equipment will be tan and green and will
include a "rock-climbing wall". Anyone who would like to
volunteer his or her time to help assemble the equipment
should contact Daniel Birenbaum at 285-7931.
