FROM BELGIUM TO BELGIUM…
Our friendships continue to grow and prosper between
Belgium, Europe and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Maison de la Culture d’Arlon, (Luxembourg
Province) Arlon, Belgium, Europe, has hosted a play last November. "On
Reviendra" is the story of migration of Belgian pioneers immigrating to
Wisconsin. Beatrice Krier and Lila Mueller helped supply information
regarding life in the 1800’s to assist with costuming, etc. for the
play. Our first known resident in this area was Jean Weyker from the
Arlon Belgium area. Edmée Garant, Chef de Division for the Province De
Luxembourg (Belgium) was one of the actresses and is a regular contact
with the Village of Belgium.

The Lighter Side

You know you are a true Wisconsinite when:
-
Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to
pass a tractor on the highway.
-
You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same
day and back again.
-
You go out to a fish fry every Friday.
-
You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter,
still winter and road construction.
-
You think of the major food groups as cheese, beer,
fish and venison.
